Family Testimonies

The Wilkinson Family

David: I never seem to remember doubting the truthfulness of the gospel. I always remember believing it to be true. The Book of Mormon, the plan of salvation, the Savior - all felt true from my earliest recollections. Over the years, as I have studied and learned, my testimony has been strengthened and has grown. The temple, the creation, the fall, the atonement, covenants - all mean more to me today than they ever have. It is comforting to understand the principles of eternity and have an understanding of the purposes of mortality. It is hard to imagine going through lifes challenges without that testimony and understanding. I am thankful for a strong and supportive family, for parents who made sure that the gospel was the standard in our home growing up, and for a wonderful wife who has provided love and guidance throughout our marriage. I am grateful for the mercies of a loving Heavenly Father who is quick to forgive and forget. I am indebted to my Elder Brother for His grace and redemption. The gospel has been restored in it's fullness. The keys of priesthood authority necessary to perform the saving ordinances are upon the earth. Baptism, confirmation, the Sacrament, the Melchizedek Priesthood, the temple - and the covenants and blessings associated with each of these ordinances - are available to all of Heavenly Father's children because the keys reside with prophets and apostles.  Revelation allows us to receive guidance from our Father in those matters that are most needful personally as well as collectively. The Gift of the Holy Ghost is that revelator that provides us with the security and comfort needed in difficult times. I know the gospel is true and am forever grateful for that testimony.

Kendra: I want to share my testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that the atonement of Jesus Christ covers more than redeeming me from my sins. The atonement heals all of our hurt and enables us to do more than we could ever do on our own. The atonement makes our burdens light and helps us to turn our weaknesses into strengths. The restored gospel blesses my life and my family. I know that my family will be together for eternity and I am so grateful for the comfort and peace that knowledge brings. I know that living the commandments brings peace and joy for "wickedness never was happiness." The Book of Mormon clarifies and illustrates true principle to help us become more Christlike. I feel love for the prophets from ancient to modern.  Reading or listening to their words give me guidance and strength. I know my Savior lives and that I will see Him face to face. I look forward to that day.

Michelle: I know that the Lord loves me. He has shown me many times that He knows me. He knows the things that I need. I have felt His peace fill me and calm my heart. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be a member of the Lord’s church so that I can have the Holy Ghost’s influence in my life. I love the Book of Mormon. When I read my scriptures in the morning, before I really start my day, I feel a quiet peace that often lasts through the day. I have more power to treat my boys well, even if they are not happy or kind. I have a testimony of the power of the Priesthood, especially for the protecting, strengthening influence it brings into my family. I hope I will be able to teach my boys to love and respect the priesthood that they will hold. I know that my Savior lives. He came to earth so that he could make it possible for me and my family to return to live with Him after we die. I know that through His atonement, I can be healed of sin, sorrow, sadness, and many other things, and I love Him
for it.

Brian: I am so grateful to have the gospel in my life. I know that all good things that have come to my life have come because I have chosen to make and keep sacred covenants. I know that the Lord will bless the lives of all who come unto Him. I have seen His hand in my life. He has always taken care of me and guided me even when I didn’t recognize His influence leading me in my decisions and in the path I have followed to get where I am and to become who I have become. My Savior lives! He is my example and teacher. I hope I can live worth to be called His friend. He has given His power to men on the earth to carry out His work. The priesthood is not an abstract belief, but a real power. I have seen the power of the priesthood change lives and alter the outcomes of difficult situations. It is by that same power that I am sealed to my wife and boys. Now I must live worthy to have the Holy Ghost approve that ordinance and bind me to my family for eternity. What a blessing it is to be with our loved ones forever. I know that only in the true Church can we find the authority to perform these sacred ordinances. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is that church. We have true prophets on the earth to lead and guide us according to the mind and will of the Lord. We have sacred scriptures that can also influence our lives and inspire us in the decisions we must make. The Book of Mormon is true, and it is clear and undefiled doctrine. On top of all of these things, worthy members of the Church have the gift of the Holy Ghost and are entitled to personal revelation from the Lord to guide their lives. I love the Lord and hope my meager service will be acceptable to Him.

Camden: I feel happy when I go to nursery. His favorite scripture (right now) is "And he answered: Yea, Lord, I know that thou speakest the truth, for thou art a God of truth, and canst not lie." (Ether3:12)  I love Book of Mormon stories. When I have a nightmare, I can say a prayer and then I feel happy.

Little David:

Laura: I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church on this earth. I know that my older brother, Jesus Christ, came to earth, suffered and died for me. He loves me and wants me to be happy. I know that my Father in Heaven watches over me. He knows when I am sad, and he knows when I am happy. He loves me no matter what I have done. I can always turn to him. He will always be there reaching out to me. I know that I am a daughter of a the Most High. He sent me here to learn, to gain a body, to grow. He gave us agency to choose for ourselves which path we want to follow. I know that if I choose the right path I will be happy, if I choose the wrong path I will be miserable. Wickedness never was happiness (Alma 41:3).  I am thankful for my dad, that he has always been worthy to give me blessings when I need them. I know that the power of the Priesthood comes from our Father in Heaven. I know that this power works and can heal and provide comfort when it is needed and when it is right.

Rachel: of the memories I have is from the Wilkinson Family Renuion (2009).
I remember all the cousins, aunts and uncles, and Grandma and Grandpa in the big house.  I remember Grandma holding little baby Camden.  Grandma was so happy that everyone was there and that she got to hold Camden for the first time.  I remember playing Marco Polo in the pool and Uncle Mike was so crazy.  When he was "it"  he would creep around and then suddenly spring on you.  The slumber party was huge - wall to wall cousins.  I remember the 50th Anniversary party. All the cousins were dancing and Richie was playing his guitar and singing.  It was so much fun! I am glad that I have these good memories of the Wilkinson Reunion and especially of Grandma.

Mike:

Michele: I know we are all children of a loving Heavenly Father! I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and atoned for not only my sin’s but my sorrows. I know it is because of Him we will be resurrected and have eternal life. He gives me hope. I know that Joseph Smith restored the gospel of Jesus Christ. His example of faith is strength to me. He translated the Book of Mormon. I know the Book of Mormon is true scripture and if we read and study it daily it will bring guidance, peace, and blessings into our lives. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a living prophet on the earth today. He loves us and when we follow his council, we will not be lead astray. I am grateful for my knowledge and testimony of these things.

Amanda:

Stephanie: I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know that it is the one and only true church of Jesus Christ on the earth today. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that it testifies of Jesus Christ and His gospel. I know that Joseph Smith translated it correctly through the power of God. I know that he was a prophet called of God to restore the priesthood on the Earth today. I know that he restored the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Earth. Because of this restoration, families can be sealed for time and all eternity. I know that the more obedient of a life you lead, the more happiness and peace you will feel. I also know that having a steady habit of scripture study and prayer is the best way to always maintain a close relationship with Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. I know that following Jesus Christ leads to a life centered on love and education. Jesus Christ is my life and my light, my joy and my salvation, and my redemption, Alma 26:36.

Mitchell: I know that our redeemer lives. He suffered for all our sins, pains, sufferings, and sorrows so that we may live with Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father again someday. I know that Joseph Smith restored the gospel here on the earth today. The church is the same everywhere. From Northern Russia to South Peru, and back again, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be the same. I know that when we read and study the scriptures daily, as instructed, we will be blessed in our daily lives. I have experienced this in my life. I cannot wait to start seminary this coming school year. It will help me keep my standards and be strong under the influence of high school. Again, I know that our Redeemer lives. He died on the cross for us. Thomas S. Monson is the true prophet here on the earth today. He loves us and receives revelation daily. I love all my family, they love me too. I am grateful for them.

Robert: I know that Jesus Christ lives and is the leader of our Church. He gave us a perfect example of  how to live and if we follow that example we will have happiness in this life and eternal life in the world to come. I know that I am a child of God and that he loves me. He has created a plan for me to return to live with him one day. I know that my family can be with me forever if we make good choices and follow His plan. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is a living prophet and if we follow his guidance we can return to our Father in Heaven and see Jesus Christ again. I am grateful for my family and the strength that they have given me. I am grateful for the testimony that I have received from my parents. The church is true and will provide happiness if we follow the teachings we receive each week. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Melinda: I have a testimony of my Savior, Jesus Christ and his atonement. I know if I pray and follow the commandments I can feel His spirit with me every day. I know the temple is the house of the Lord and that we can receive special blessings when we do service for those that are dead. I am grateful I have the opportunity to bless other's live while providing for my family in my career. I am grateful I live in a home where the Priesthood is present and available. In the name of Jesus the Christ, Amen.

Preston: I like to bear my testimony. The church is true. Jesus was a living person on Earth. Adam and Eve taught good things. Joseph Smith translated the scriptures. I know that when we die we will be resurrected and have another life in heaven. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Andrew: I like to bear my testimony and I know this church is true. I know that Jesus Christ was a true person living on Earth and that Joseph Smith was a prophet on the Earth. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Richard: One of my best memories of grandpa is how he would always come to my football games. He would even drive 4 hours to Ogden to make it to them.

Lori: I know that Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the Savior of the world, and my Redeemer. I know I can become like Him, and that He will help me to do it. I believe in the Atonement, and I know Christ has descended below anything we will go through. I know my Father in Heaven lives, and that He knows and loves me. I know I have been given special gifts and talents from my Maker, and that I am His child. I know that families can be together forever, and I believe in angels! I’m grateful for my testimony, and the things I know by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Bret: I know that Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the Savior of the world, and my Redeemer. Faye: I know that it is true that Heavenly Father made the earth for us. I know He made all the flowers and the grass and the trees for us. And I know that He made us, and that He made us very special! I know that Heavenly Father is very special, and that Jesus is very special because they have so much light in them. I know they live up in heaven. I know that I am special because I am the daughter of the King!
