Chapter 8

Mothers

“Mothers are primarily responsible for the nurture of their children. In these sacred responsibilities, fathers and mothers are obligated to help one another as equal partners.”
The Family: A Proclamation to the World

Motherhood is near to divinity. It is the highest, holiest service to be assumed by mankind”
- President Howard W. Hunter (November 1994, Being a Righteous Husband and Father)

Mothers are so special. They have been given the responsibility to nurture, care, love and raise children from the time they are conceived and forever after. Many in today’s society think poorly of the mothers who consider being a mother a full time job. However, being a mother is not just a job that you leave at work. Being a mother means being there 24/7 to help raise the children. Mothers are not paid in money. No, their payment is worth far above money. Their payment comes in the hugs, kisses, and the love of a child.
